'Bharat' will not replace 'India' but will be used interchangeably in textbooks: NCERT
Monday, 17 June 2024 () The NCERT will use 'Bharat' and 'India' interchangeably in textbooks, aligning with the country's Constitution. The decision follows a recommendation to replace 'India' with 'Bharat' in all school textbooks, as suggested by a high-level committee on social science curriculum. The committee also proposed incorporating the Indian Knowledge System into the curriculum for all subjects.
