What 2024 Lok Sabha elections tell about women representation in Indian politics

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 19 June 2024
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India revealed a complex narrative on women's representation in Indian politics. Despite more women candidates, the number of women elected to the lower house slightly decreased. The strike rate for women candidates, which refers to the number of seats won per 100 seats contested, was approximately 9.3% in this election, a decline from the 11.7% in the previous election.
