Unlocking potential: DGCA simplifies seaplane rules to enhance usage

The DGCA has updated its regulatory provisions to promote seaplane usage under the subsidized UDAN scheme. Now, commercial pilot license (CPL) holders can become seaplane-rated pilots by training at any ICAO-recognized training organization worldwide, according to a senior official. The regulatory framework for seaplane operations, established in 2008, "was long due for a review" which has now been completed.
