Opposition makes its intent clear with 'save democracy' march

The INDIA bloc of opposition parties demonstrated their intent on the first day of the 18th Lok Sabha by marching from the old Parliament building to the new one, holding copies of the Constitution and chanting slogans like "save democracy" and "long live Constitution." Key opposition leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress's Sudip Bandyopadhyay, and DMK's T R Baalu, gathered where the Gandhi statue once stood. Former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi also participated.
