Wednesday, 26 June 2024 In Pathankot, the presence of armed suspects triggered vigilance, leading to combing operations. The suspects' threat to migrant labourers escalated tension in the region, necessitating increased security measures across borders. Deputy inspector general (DIG), Border Range, Rakesh Kumar Kaushal said suspicious movement was detected Tuesday night. It is also learned that the suspected armed militants threatened the migrant labourers of dire consequences if they reported their presence to the police. In the past, armed fidayeen representing the United Jihad Council had stormed the Pathankot Air Force base on January 2, 2016.
J&K Breaking: Terrorists opened fire on an Indian Army vehicle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place in Phal village, Sunderbani sector, a known infiltration route for militants.
Troops immediately retaliated, and reinforcements were rushed to the area. A cordon and search operation has been launched to track down the attackers.
This incident comes just hours after the BSF neutralized an intruder attempting to cross the International Border (IB) in Pathankot. Security forces remain on high alert amid increasing cross-border infiltration attempts.
