Samajwadi Party MP wants Constitution to replace Sengol, says 'Will the country run by...'
Thursday, 27 June 2024 () The former minister from Uttar Pradesh insisted that in order to "save democracy," a copy of the Constitution be placed in place of the "sengol."
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav congratulated the newly elected Lok Sabha Speaker and extended best wishes on behalf of his colleagues. He highlighted the glorious traditions of the Speaker's post and emphasised the importance of impartiality, urging equal opportunities and respect for all members and parties. Yadav called for no stifling of voices or expulsions and insisted that the Speaker's control should extend to both the Opposition and the ruling side. He expressed hope that the Speaker would respect the Opposition as much as the ruling party, allowing them to present their views.
