'Omit those with 2 wives': MNS leader on Maharashtra's 'Ladki Bahin' scheme

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 3 July 2024
A Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader on Wednesday voiced concerns regarding the newly introduced women welfare scheme 'Ladki Bahin' in Maharashtra, suggesting it should exclude communities with two wives, specifically mentioning the Muslim community. On a Marathi news channel, MNS leader Prakash Mahajan criticized certain aspects of the initiative and sought clarification from the government. Furthermore, Mahajan was critical of the government's decision to relax conditions for granting domicile certificates. The scheme is the biggest announcement in the state budget, with an allocation higher than any other new scheme.

75,000 Worshippers Gather at Al-Aqsa for Ramadan's Final Friday Prayers Amid Israeli Restrictions

Around 75,000 Muslim worshippers gathered at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem for the final Friday prayers of Ramadan. Despite facing strict Israeli restrictions and reported harassment, Palestinians participated in the prayers at the sacred site. The number of worshippers this year was notably lower due to increased security measures. Al-Aqsa Mosque, a significant religious site for Muslims, remains a focal point of tensions, with ongoing restrictions on Palestinian access further intensifying regional grievances. #AlAqsa #Jerusalem #Ramadan #Palestine #Israel #Prayers #OccupiedJerusalem #FinalFriday #MuslimUnity #ReligiousFreedom #IsraeliRestrictions #MiddleEast #AlAqsaMosque #PrayerGathering #Peace #FreedomOfReligion #PalestinianRights #HolySite #Conflict #BreakingNews ~HT.336~GR.124~
