MCD considers shifting shops out of heavily congested Chandni Chowk

The MCD formed a committee on July 2 after Chandni Chowk fires. A July 1 meeting addressed relocating shops due to low-hanging wires and unauthorized construction. Traders must audit electricals after Nov 2022 Bhagirath Palace fire. Ajay Sharma and Sanjay Bhargava criticized the lack of concrete relocation plans. Market trader associations must nominate committee members.
