On Monday morning, a collision between the Kanchenjunga Express passenger train and a goods train in Darjeeling, West Bengal, resulted in eight deaths and 25 injuries. The incident occurred around 9 am when the goods train overshot a signal and struck the rear of the Kanchenjunga Express, causing the derailment. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) CPRO Sabyasachi De confirmed the injuries were non-fatal, and rescue operations are ongoing. Senior officials have arrived at the site, and efforts are being made to complete the rescue swiftly.
