In 40 years, Gujarat’s 703.6km coastline eroded rapidly

Gujarat's 1,617km coastline is eroding rapidly due to rising sea temperatures, affecting 45.8% and villages. Key areas like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Bharuch are impacted. Bhaskaracharya National Institute’s study (1978-2020) shows Kutch with highest erosion. Hot spots include Gulf of Kutch and Valsad, with high erosion rates since 1998. Annual change rate is notably high in Khambhat region.
