The Punjab and Haryana High Court has instructed the police to investigate the possibility of a racket involved in religious conversion following an unusual interfaith marriage conducted in an autorickshaw. Justice Sandeep Maudgil ordered the probe while hearing a petition from a couple alleging threats from the girl's family after the marriage. The couple had married against the family's wishes, with the girl reportedly converting to Islam to marry the boy. The girl’s petition cited her family's address in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
