After 24-hour rainfall, some Maharashtra regions now India’s wettest spots

IndiaTimes Thursday, 25 July 2024 ()
Triple-digit rainfall hit Maharashtra within 24 hours until Wednesday morning, with Tamhini in Pune recording the highest at 300mm. Areas like Lonavla, Lavasa, and Mahabaleshwar also faced severe downpours. The rainfall has caused flooding, notably in Kolhapur, where the Panchaganga River neared its danger level. The situation may worsen as dam discharges increase water flow.
