The rally was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with SAEL and NGO Pawan Prithvi Paani. The event commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Old Kargil Memorial by the chief guest, Brigadier Prateek Prashar honouring the brave soldiers who gave their lives for the nation while defending Kargil from 1947-48. This memorial is a solemn tribute to the valiant soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War in 1947-48. After fuelling up in Karu, the last petrol station before Tandi, they travelled through notable stops like Upshi, where they thanked the Border Roads Organisation for their tireless efforts. They climbed Tanglang La, one of the highest motorable passes, and paused at Debring for a meal. The route offered breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas, More Plains' flatlands, and the challenging passes of Lachulung La and Nakee La.
