Odisha: ‘Duplicate keys may have been made with intent to steal Ratna Bhandar valuables’

A government-appointed committee in Odisha overseeing the inventory of Puri Jagannath temple's Ratna Bhandar suspected the use of duplicate keys in the past with potential criminal intent to steal valuables. Members found numerous unlocked boxes and broken locks after malfunctioning duplicate keys, raising concerns about possible theft. The committee cannot recommend a criminal investigation.
