Wayanad landslides: Bodies, parts found floating 20km away

Residents along the Chaliyar river in Pothukallu, Nilambur were shocked to find several bodies and human remains floating in the water on Tuesday morning. By evening, 49 bodies had been recovered, with some remains being severely mutilated. Authorities believe the victims were from a landslide in Mundakkai, Wayanad. A significant search operation involving locals, police, fire and rescue services, and the NDRF was conducted. The recovered bodies were taken to Nilambur district government hospital for identification. The search operation is set to continue on Wednesday.
