In July, Maharashtra recorded its highest rainfall since 1901 with 529.5mm, while India experienced its lowest since 2021. Pune saw significant rainfall of 620.5mm, the second-highest since 1961. The India Meteorological Department cited factors like a southward monsoon trough and intensified Arabian Sea winds for this disparity in rainfall distribution across regions.
