Cauvery in spate: Over 1,200 people shifted to relief camps in Tamil Nadu

The Cauvery river overflowed into low-lying areas in Namakkal district, prompting officials to evacuate over 1,000 residents. Damage extended to Erode district, agricultural fields, and infrastructure near Kollidam river, Trichy. Discharge from Mettur dam was maintained, with potential increases expected due to releases from Karnataka dams. A stranded man was also rescued near Trichy city.
