Chandrababu Naidu, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, supported the sub-categorisation of scheduled castes. Naidu implemented reservations based on sub-categorisation in 2000, benefiting over 22,000 candidates from underrepresented castes. Despite legal challenges, Naidu continued to support the cause, even passing an executive order during his 2014-19 tenure.
