Idukki water dispute: Kerala reiterates its right; says it will not affect Tamil Nadu farmers

Kerala justified constructing a weir at Vattavada, stating it would not harm Tamil Nadu farmers and the state is entitled to use its share of water in the Pambar sub-basin. Kerala Water Authority clarified that it is a small-scale project intended to supply drinking water to local tribes. The National Green Tribunal has requested a report from Tamil Nadu authorities.
