Maharashtra nod for Rs 87k crore river linking, irrigation in Vidarbha, Marathwada gets huge push

The Maharashtra cabinet approved the ₹87,342.86 crore Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project to improve irrigation in Vidarbha. The project aims to redirect water from the Wainganga river to the Nalganga project, benefiting 15 towns in six districts covering 3.75 lakh hectare land. The initiative promises irrigation, drinking water, and industrial supply, particularly aiding drought-prone areas.
