AQI 53: Delhi experiences its cleanest air day after 333 days

IndiaTimes Thursday, 8 August 2024
After nearly a year, Delhi recorded its cleanest air on Thursday with an Air Quality Index reading of 53, categorized as 'satisfactory.' Light rain on the day and moderate showers earlier in the week helped wash out pollutants, aided by strong winds. According to experts, this seasonal improvement should prompt efforts for sustained air quality measures before anticipated winter pollution. Despite the improvement, the city has yet to achieve a 'good' air day this year. Heavy rains in neighboring states also contributed to the cleaner air in Delhi, as per data from the India Meteorological Department.
