Speed up Myanmar fence work, Centre tells Arunachal Pradesh & Manipur

The Union government instructed Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur to expedite fencing their sections of the India-Myanmar border. This directive aims to curb illegal immigration, militant activity, and drug trafficking. Currently, only 10km of the border in Manipur is fenced. The directive excludes Nagaland and Mizoram due to their opposition, with coordination involving Assam Rifles and Border Roads Organisation.
