Following a Calcutta high court directive, the CBI took custody of Sanjoy Roy, the main suspect in the rape-murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College, along with evidence from Kolkata police. Officials stressed they never suggested the death was a suicide and dismissed claims of multiple assailants and broken bones.
