Maharashtra polls’ budget up by 66% as compared to 2019

IndiaTimes Saturday, 17 August 2024
The state budget allocated Rs1,500 crore for the upcoming assembly polls, marking an increase of nearly 66% compared to 2019. The rise in budget is attributed to the increase in the number of polling booths, electorate, and the use of VVPATs. The Election Commission announced that poll dates for Maharashtra will be declared alongside those for Jharkhand.
