Uttarakhand: Cybercriminals use app to hijack OTPs in new fraud scheme
Tuesday, 20 August 2024 Cyber fraudsters had exploited a mobile app to steal bank OTPs in Uttarakhand, enabling them to commit fraudulent transactions without the victims' awareness. The police arrested Abhishek Bali in connection to an online trading scam. The app, banned on popular stores, allowed access to OTPs registered to bank account holders. Authorities advised caution against suspicious investments.
