Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray criticized the BJP, recalling that his father, Bal Thackeray, had criticized Rajiv Gandhi without facing retaliation from agencies like the ED, CBI, and IT. He spoke at a Congress event marking Gandhi's birth anniversary, emphasizing a need to resist BJP’s influence and questioning their version of Hindutva, which he felt was discriminatory. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge highlighted the importance of gaining power in states to counter unfair bills. Kharge also noted how reduced BJP majority allowed for opposition of certain amendments.
