Kerala woman’s suicide exposes dangerous loan app scams

Ernakulam rural police are probing the suspected suicide of a 31-year-old woman in Vengoor, linked to harassment by loan sharks through mobile apps. Having downloaded 34 dubious apps, the woman faced threats and was trapped in debt. The case now includes charges of criminal intimidation, cheating, and abetment to suicide under the IT Act.
