AI system to detect lion movements on tracks in Gujarat

Western Railway's Bhavnagar division is piloting an intruder detection system to prevent lion deaths on train tracks. The technology uses optical fibres to detect animal movements and alert train drivers in real-time. Initial trials identified other animals, with further tests ongoing in lion-dense areas. This system may also be used for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project.
