Shomie Das, headmaster of India’s trinity and tutor to King Charles, passes away at 89
Tuesday, 10 September 2024 Shomie Ranjan Das, a legendary Indian educationist who served as headmaster of Mayo College, Sanawar, and Doon School, passed away at 89. Known for his liberal educational methods and outdoor activities, he influenced generations of students including King Charles. His humility and wisdom earned him widespread respect.
The King and Queen gave a birthday card to a woman celebrating her 100th birthday in Middlesborough. King Charles and Queen Camilla handed Rona Grafton the birthday card in an envelope, wishing her "a very, very happy birthday". The meeting was part of their Majesties' royal visit to Middlesborough where they carried out numerous engagements.
