Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of eight individuals who drowned in the Meshwo river in Gujarat's Gandhinagar district. The incident took place during Ganesha idol immersion. PM Modi also announced a relief amount of Rs 50,000 for those injured.
