First census under Modi govt to be conducted soon, no decision on caste census yet: Reports

The Indian government is set to conduct its first decadal census since PM Modi took office in 2014. A decision on including a caste column is still pending. This digital census will facilitate the implementation of the Women's Reservation Act and allow citizens to self-enumerate through an upcoming portal.
