Kerala man dies of amoebic meningoencephalitis caused by brain-eating amoeba

A 38-year-old man named M Manikandan from Ukrampadi near Thekkil in Kasaragod district succumbed to amoebic meningoencephalitis at a private hospital in Kannur. Having worked in Mumbai for the past decade, he returned home with a fever and sought treatment locally before being diagnosed. Authorities suspect the infection originated from his workplace.
