Cyclone Dana: Mangroves save the day in epicentre Bhitarkanika

Cyclone Dana made landfall at Bhitarkanika National Park with winds of 100-120 kmph, but the damage was minimal due to the protective mangrove forests. Mangroves absorbed much of the wind's force, and effective preemptive measures resulted in minimal structural damage and no major casualties.
