SK Verma to be Maharashtra DGP till model code stays in place: EC
Maharashtra government placed DGP Rashmi Shukla on compulsory leave and appointed Sanjay Kumar Verma as the new DGP, following the Election Commission's order. Verma, who previously led the investigation into the 2015 murder of Govind Pansare, will serve as DGP while the model code of conduct is in effect. Shukla's removal comes after complaints from opposition parties regarding her conduct.
