New species of jumping spider found on Pune's Baner hill, get ‘tekdi’ in their name

Researchers discovered a new species of jumping spider on Baner hill in Pune. The spider is named Okinawicius tekdi. This discovery increases the number of jumping spider species in India to 326. The last such discovery in Pune was over 30 years ago. Researchers emphasize the importance of preserving urban green spaces to protect biodiversity.
