Crop delayed, onion prices touch Rs 100/kg in Mumbai

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 13 November 2024 ()
Onion prices in Mumbai have soared to Rs 80-90/kg, with some areas even reaching Rs 100/kg, causing concern among consumers. The price surge is attributed to delayed harvests due to extended rainfall and depleted old stocks. Wholesale rates at Vashi APMC have doubled, and traders predict high prices until new crops arrive in December.
