K Sanjay Murthy becomes next Comptroller and Auditor General
Monday, 18 November 2024 K Sanjay Murthy, an IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, succeeding Girish Chandra Murmu. Murthy, currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, will assume his new role upon taking charge. The President of India made the appointment, exercising the power vested in her by the Constitution.
Reacting to the CAG report on the money spent on renovating the Delhi chief minister's residence,' AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday said BJP speaking about corruption was like 'Osama Bin Laden preaching non-violence.'
Singh was responding to BJP questioning Arvind Kejriwal on the source of funds used for the renovation. BJP has termed the CM's residence as Kejriwal's 'Sheeshmahal.'
