Fahad Ahmad, the NCP candidate and husband of actress Swara Bhaskar, lost the Anushakti Nagar assembly election to NCP's Sana Malik. He alleged manipulation after initially leading, claiming EVMs with 99% battery were opened in later rounds, giving his opponent an advantage. Both he and Bhaskar questioned why such EVMs seemingly favored the BJP-aligned NCP faction and demanded a recount.
