A butterfly for Telangana: State searching for its official winged wonder from about 165 species

Telangana is considering a state butterfly. A proposal is with the forest department. Wildlife organizations support the idea. Around 165 butterfly species exist in Telangana. India has 1,380 butterfly species. Karnataka was the first state to declare a state butterfly. Organizations are working with officials to select the butterfly.
