President Murmu attends Navy Day celebration at Odisha's Puri
Wednesday, 4 December 2024 President Droupadi Murmu attended the Navy Day celebration at Puri Beach, Odisha, commending the Indian Navy's service and sacrifice. She highlighted India's rich maritime heritage and the Navy's role in ensuring maritime security for a developed India by 2047. The President also praised the Navy's inclusion of women, including the first women Agniveers and two officers circumnavigating the globe.
Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived in India for a two-day state visit, receiving a personal welcome from PM Narendra Modi at the Delhi airport, breaking protocol. The visit focuses on trade, investment, energy, and defense cooperation, with India seeking to strengthen ties. Talks will also cover regional security and India's LNG imports, as Qatar remains its top supplier.
