Devendra Fadnavis became Maharashtra's Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers. Shinde initially hesitated to accept the position. He wanted specific portfolios. Shinde's confirmation letter reached Fadnavis just hours before the ceremony. Fadnavis, Shinde, and Pawar presented a list of supporting MLAs to the governor.
