Two people died and more than 50 people who complained of vomiting and diarrhoea were treated at various hospitals including Tambaram Govt Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Govt General Hospital. While water analysis reports by the King Institute of Preventive Medicine are still pending, public health experts and microbiologists suggest that the causes of this gut distress could be one or a combination of intestinal pathogens.
