Uttar Pradesh: Over 50 monkeys sedated & stuffed in sacks inside van rescued in Meerut

Over 50 monkeys were rescued from a van in Meerut, India, after being discovered in tightly packed sacks. Bikers, suspecting child theft, stopped the van and found the sedated primates. The driver, claiming to be a monkey catcher hired to relocate the animals, was briefly detained. Police are investigating the incident under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
