4-time MLA stripped of Indian citizenship, fined
Telangana High Court revoked ex-BRS MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh's Indian citizenship, deeming him a German citizen. He was fined ₹30 lakh for concealing this and misleading the court. Ramesh's German naturalization in the 1990s and retention of his German passport despite regaining Indian citizenship in 2008 led to this unprecedented decision.
