Madras HC declines relief to medico ‘funded by Maoist group’, says no guarantee topper won’t join extremists

The NIA froze a bank account suspected of funding a Chennai medical student's tuition by a Maoist group. The student, a top ranker, petitioned the Madras High Court to unfreeze the account needed for her course certificate, but the court denied her plea, stating academic excellence doesn't preclude extremist affiliations. The court advised her to cooperate with the NIA's investigation.
