Researchers at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, developed a portable device for rapid on-site detection of pesticide residues on produce and in water. Using just 5ml of washing water, the device detects eight common organophosphorus pesticides. This cost-effective solution, priced at Rs 10 per unit, transmits data remotely and adheres to international safety standards.
