In a 1st, Goa to honour heroes of Liberation

The Goa government is honoring 14 families of freedom fighters who died during Goa's Liberation struggle with ₹10 lakh each. This is the first time any Indian state has offered such recognition. A total of 74 martyrs have been identified, but only 14 have surviving immediate family members to receive the honor.
