No BNS test for those who failed in IPC exam: HC to law university
Sunday, 22 December 2024 The Karnataka High Court directed Karnataka State Law University to examine repeater students in the Indian Penal Code (IPC), not the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Two students challenged the university's notification, arguing they hadn't studied the new code. The court agreed, stating the university's argument applied only to students currently studying BNS.
K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Sircilla MLA, was summoned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for questioning in connection with the Formula-E race case. However, his advocates were not permitted to accompany him, leading to his return from the ACB office. The investigation, which relates to allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Indian Penal Code, has sparked a legal dispute. KTR has challenged the procedural issues of the FIR and petitioned the Telangana High Court, urging that the summons be deferred until the court’s verdict. Meanwhile, ACB is set to issue fresh notices for further questioning.
