Pharma company hauled up for taking doctors on foreign trips
Pharma department has reprimanded AbbVie Healthcare for sending 30 doctors to Paris and Monaco, spending over Rs 1.9 crore, violating uniform travel and hospitality guidelines. The National Medical Commission has been asked to investigate misconduct by doctors. AbbVie justified the expense as industry practice but the department suggested supporting underprivileged patients instead.
