IndiaTimes Saturday, 28 December 2024 ()
A bandh in Imphal Valley disrupted life due to the arrest of six armed men and one death in a Thoubal gunfight. Shops closed, vehicles halted, and supporters vandalized cars. The arrested individuals were accused of being PREPAK members involved in extortion, but bandh supporters claimed they were village volunteers defending against armed Kuki men.

Kuki Insurgents Killed in Bloody Clash After Attack on Meitei Farmer – Total Curfew in Manipur

Manipur is once again plunged into chaos as violence escalates between Kuki insurgents and security forces. In a deadly encounter in Jiribam district, at least 11 suspected Kuki militants were shot dead by security forces after a violent attack on a Meitei farmer and a CRPF camp. As the region reels from the bloodshed, Naga groups have condemned the attack and imposed an indefinite blockade. In response, authorities have imposed a total curfew in an attempt to restore order. With ethnic tensions running high, the situation in Manipur remains volatile, with ongoing clashes threatening the fragile peace in the region. #Manipur #Kuki #Meitei #KukivsMeitei #Nagaland #FarmerAttack #MeiteiFarmer #Jiribam #ManipurViolence #ManipurCurfew #EthnicConflict ~PR.274~ED.102~HT.336~GR.121~
